What is Leech Site (Server)?

Leech concept

‘Leech’ is blood suckering worm from the animal. So the same as in IT; which get benefit from others and without giving anything to them. Leech concept is used in several areas including P2P networks, gaming, etc; but the idea is same.

 Leech server

Normally leech server is website which accesses another site link which related to proxy web site. But here, server is download content. For example you can download from share site (rapidshare, megaupload,  FileServe, etc) using leech server.

How it work?

Normally share site give you the single link for free (you can get premium account and that want to pay) but you cannot use download accelerators and cannot resume if it cancel. Other problem is your download link speed.

For example your bandwidth is 1Mbps and supposes you download using free option. So what happen if it interrupts; then you have to download it from the beginning. However it takes time to download because of slow link speed.  But leech servers normally have high link speed so it downloads your content just a second to their servers. Then you can download it from that location using accelerator speed (you can use download accelerators) without using share site link.

How to get leech server

Like proxy site, leech servers also have paid versions. Free versions also available but it has limitations. To get the leech site, you have to search the Internet. Some links were expired in short period.

What is Proxy Web Site

Introduction

Proxy web site is special types of web site in the Internet to show the web site though that proxy web site. It hides your details such as your IP address, Operating System, web browser, location, etc which send to web server when you request the web site. In that case the website receives the proxy site details instead of your details. Today, there is hundreds of proxy website available in the Internet. Some of them are free, but those have some limitations.

Actual Usage/purpose

The proxy site owner’s purpose is to earn the money, no doubt about that. To fulfill that, they use many advertisements, popup when they allow free access.

Usage of these kinds of sites is to view contents which restrict by governments or other public or private organizations for their own purpose. They actually block the entire web address or part of it. For example if they want to block all the web address which consists of ‘mail’ they include it their proxy servers. Then we cannot browse any website consist of ‘mail’ in web address. (There are several blocking methods)

Important: Most of the time, system administrators block the proxy site, then the proxy site no longer available. If they miss the addresses to block it is your chance!

Free Proxy site limitations

Downloading size

Downloading size is site download at a time; you know that the web site first download by the browser before it show in normal web site (but this may vary with buffer concept) sometimes it would be 100kb. But the pay site gives you the ultimate access of the site.

Streaming video

You can also view the streaming video, but it is difficult to view with free proxy servers. Sometimes some proxy servers used to access the streaming content without proxy; therefore your original details would leak to other people. So remember to check the source (using view source option in the web browser) whether or not original site access for streaming before view the content. If original source use, you cannot view it if original web site is blocked.

Direct downloading

As mentioned before, proxy site cannot be use for downloading because of limitation if it free.  It takes time to download or it will download as single link. You cannot use the download accelerators.

Security

As a security concern, proxy web site is extremely unsecured because site owner easily view your input specially your passwords, credit card number, etc. Because of that it is not recommended to use proxy web site access your email, online transactions, and other privacy things.

How to avoid security problem in proxy site

First thing is you avid to use proxy site.  You cannot 100% avoid the security problem using this. But sometimes it would be required to some situations. So how you avoid the site owners to collect your password, etc?

You do remember that if you log in to your email or some private site, change the password immediately in first of all when you out of proxy site.

 Secondly always follow the correct security steps, such as in Gmail they give you the account verification method through SMS. In that case, the security code receives only to your mobile and proxy site owner do nothing to hack your account. But remember still they can view your data, and get your email address.

How to Remove ‘Mahasona’ Virus

1.Press Alt+Ctrl+Del and get Task manager
2.Find explorer.exe task in process tab and select and end the process
3.Select folder option in my computer>Tool and select view and tick the 'show hidden file and folder' and unmark the 'Hide protected operating system file' and ok

4.Go to operating system installed drive (Most probably 'C' drive and find the explorer.exe in windows>system32 folder and delete it. (Note: Do not double click to open the drive instead of that select it from address bar)
5.If you have removable disk plug them pressing shift key and select drive from address bar.
6.Delete the auto run file and other unknown .exe files.

Now you are free from 'Mahasona' Virus.

How to Protect Your Computer from Viruses

1. You have to use antivirus program to securely remove virus from your computer. It will clear all the viruses that antivirus definition exists. Important thing is you have to frequently update your virus definition.


2. Do not allow any program to enter your computer without your permission; some websites ask you to install some program to your computer to display their content correctly; but do not allow them to install if you not trust that site content. Close that prompt dialogs as you close the window and do not use “Cancel”, ”No need”, ”No” or other relevant option given by this site.

3. If you really want to completely protect computer!! In practical, You cannot do it. But you can increase protection if you follow best practices.

Crystal Report printing using ActiveX component

Although there is a security risk exists, some people like to use ActiveX printing method for crystal report. But most of the company, as there security policy restricted the program installation facility for their domain user. In such a case it is needed to install ActiveX component only one time using administrator (domain or machine) privilege. Then other domain user will be able to use this ActiveX printing in that computer (for every user) if there is not special configuration for IE explorer.
What happen if not?
Then that domain user can seen their print dialog box is suddenly disappear (flashing) when they click print button.

Printing Crystal Report

Printing crystal report is sometimes very tedious task according to user requirement. Because most of the time users do not need to view the report and they just want to print it. There are three methods available for crystal report to print the report.

2. Using Adobe method
3. Using direct export

But there is a way to print the report directly from printer (should install in web server) but it is not practicable for large company.

Above ActiveX is better but it has some security problem (want high authority to use ActiveX) and also it need the Internet connection to connect to report vendor to get print control only at first loading. And also this type has some undiscovered problems like print control loading and suddenly disappearing problem, etc.
Second method provide some flexibility and it do not need high authority but the main drawback is user have to pass several steps to complete the printing process.
Third way provide user to export the document to various formats and it also give the facility to directly load the exported document to browser (using code)if user machine installed the exported document application. The most convenient way is to export it into adobe format because adobe reader freely available. And this removes unnecessary steps to print the adobe document in second way of printing. You want to add small coding part.
